HVAC Question--Rheem furnace- can stock mesh filter be replaced with pleated HEPA type filter?

I have a Rheem Classic 90 furnace that was installed several years ago. It came stock with a re-usable plastic fine mesh filter that I remove and clean every few months. It seems to me that a paper HEPA type filter would do a much better job of filtering
Absolutely, replace it with a pleated one, just keep it changed every month or two. Dont believe the label that says they are a three month filter, this only holds true to a dust free house. The mesh filters are not any good stop very little dust from
